| This article at SC Magazine highlights some of the latest spammer trends. In short, it points out the logical progression of image based spam to PDF based spam to now Excel based spam.

SpamOnion has tools already in place the combat all 3 types of spam, though our customers have not been a huge target of PDF or Excel based spam (yet). We monitor the trends though and we expect a full onslaught of the new PDF and Excel based spams.
As mentioned, we already have tools in place and are testing new anti-spam measures constantly. We are also planning upgrades and additions to our servers to handle any future load these new spam types might present. These attachment based spams are much larger and therefore require additional processing power in order to scan.
